Schneider Electric has announced the release of its new Compact NSXm circuit breaker and switch disconnectors. The new products offer a heightened level of power protection and easy installation with ‘efficiency that clicks’.

The brand new circuit breaker is ideal for low-voltage switchboards and panel boards, machinery and control panels. Built-in DIN rail, plate mount capability and rotary handles are all options available to the customer to allow full customisation to suit anyone’s needs. The 3-pole or 4-pole unit includes thermal (overload) and instantaneous (short circuit) sensing elements in each pole with a variety of pre-wired auxiliaries.

Patented EverLink creep-compensating technology means that a consistent connection is guaranteed and limits any loosening effects that may be the result of heat cycling or vibration. It also lowers assembly and cabling time and takes out any use of compression lugs.

Schneider Electric production certification manager Lehdi Kosmoune says the new circuit breaker will “change the way people work”.

“Top to bottom, it’s made to improve your efficiency, increase safety, and let you get every job done quickly. In the field, it’s going to be a pleasure to work with because of the one-click, externally visible and spring type auxiliaries and the EverLink connectors, which we think is a real game changer for panel builders and installers,” Lehdi says.

“OEMs that offer it in their products will know they’re giving customers the chest choice, and consulting engineers will appreciate the remarkable discrimination and cascading to put together bids that win more projects and deliver better results.”

The circuit breaker is available from 16A to 160A with breaking capacities of 16, 25, 36, 50 and 70kA at 415V as well as guaranteed compliance with up-to-date environmental regulations.
