Magnis Energy Technologies Limited (Magnis) has announced that a report sponsored by New York State Energy Research and Development  Authority (NYSERDA) and prepared by Abt Associates has been released on the Life Cycle Assessment for Charge CCCV (C4V) lithium-ion battery cells for EVs. It found that C4V Generation-1 lithium ion batteries are potentially the greenest on the market.

The report comes as lithium-ion batteries are considered the key ingredient for the future of transportation along with renewable security for homes globally. It adds that while batteries themselves are the backbone of the green transformation, current manufacturing processes have a questionable carbon and toxic footprint.

The batteries will be first produced in mass scale by iM3NY in Endicott NY, of which Magnis owns directly and indirectly approximately 58%.
