New web-based service fast tracks progress claims
“Having worked as a chief financial officer in the construction industry for many years, I know what it is like to be drowning in paperwork,” says ProgressClaim.com creator Lincoln Easton.
“I understand the frustration of being unable to process a progress claim because of a simple irregularity in the paperwork and I have been on the receiving end of subcontractors’ irritation as the payment process was held up. I knew it could be a much easier, simpler process, so I launched ProgressClaim.com to combat this situation.”

The system is suitable for any size and type of construction, from small residential renovations to full-scale commercial builds and is already being used by a number of the both small and large construction companies with very positive results.
Mirvac director Christian Graham says, “We have been using Progress Claim on our Yarra Point tower at Docklands in Victoria. To date we’ve found that it saves time and integrates easily with our existing systems.”
And Icon Construction has been using ProgressClaim.com on their 355 apartment project in Richmond, Victoria. Its contract administrator, Jonathon Stiberc says, “I have been receiving subby claims on time, in a pre-agreed format, saving me hours every month that I would otherwise spend chasing up and correcting non-conforming claims.”
Users can manage any number of contracts across multiple projects and can upgrade or downgrade their subscription plan at any time to match project work flows. Whether a project involves only a couple of subcontractors or a hundred, the payment process is streamlined and transparent at the same time. Everyone can see what’s going on.
John Dupuche from 2DM Contracting, a subcontractor who has used the service says, “I like it that I can be looking at my claim at the same time as my foreman is looking at it on site and we can process the claim immediately in ‘real time’ making the whole decision making and approval process so much smoother than using traditional, paper-based methods.”
When a claim is submitted, both parties get an email letting them know. A similar alert is provided automatically when a claim has been approved. The system is also accessible on smart phones and tablet devices, which is very handy as the forms can be filled out while you are on site.
