In a statement, NECA says “Oliver is well placed to lead NECA as the organisation evolves and requirements change to address an ever-changing industry.”
He fills the position left vacant by Suresh Manickam who has moved on to different elected roles as secretary of the national and Tasmanian offices.
“It is an honour to take this step within the organisation. I strongly believe in the work NECA does and look forward to continuing to work towards its goals in the new position as CEO. I will remain focused on achieving the best for our members and our state bodies by being a strong advocate on their behalf,” Oliver says through a spokesperson.
As part of this transition, NECA also welcomes Peter McCabe as the new director of policy and government relations.
