Melbourne electrocution: another sad day for our industry
The death of a 24 year old man, Adem Kartel, whilst working in the Melbourne suburb of Dallas is another sad reminder of the dangers of working with live electricity, said the CEO of the National Electrical and Communications Association, Suresh Manickam.
Worksafe Victoria is investigating the incident where the young man suffered a severe electric shock whilst working on the rooftop of a local shopping centre. His death leaves behind a wife and a five month old daughter.
“Whilst full details are as yet unknown, this incident provides further evidence of the very serious nature of our industry and the dangers of live electrical work,” Mr Manickam said.
