Eco Whisper wind turbines

The Eco Whisper turbine is an electricity-producing horizontal axis wind turbine with a difference – it is almost silent.

Featuring a unique design, the turbine is comprised of 30 blades extending outwards from a centre fairing to an outer ring. Standing a total of 23m in height, this design maximises the turbine’s ability to capture wind resources, while rendering the operation almost noiseless.

Similar designs have recorded coefficient performances of 0.51, which compares favourably with competitive turbines that report performance coefficients of 0.4 to 0.45.

Eco Whisper turbines are designed and manufactured in Australia to conform to Australian Standards AS61400 and AS1170. They provide grid connection through an approved inverter. Power can be used on-site or fed back into the grid, making the turbine extremely versatile.

The turbine is designed for small-to-medium energy requirements. It is well suited to commercial/industrial sites with embedded grids such as airports, ports, manufacturing, mining and resource facilities; urban development sites such as office buildings, apartments, developments, industry parks, shopping centres, schools and universities; agricultural/rural sites for both on and off-grid.

A commercial prototype is currently being manufactured and tested at a leading manufacturing organisation in Victoria. Currently in the final stages of testing, the turbine is rated at 20kW.
