AGL drives EV subscription service into Brisbane
AGL has announced that it has expanded its EV subscription service to Brisbane, giving Queenslanders the opportunity to experience the benefits of an EV without the commitment of ownership.
In partnership with car subscription service, Carbar and charging supplier JET Charge, the project has come to Brisbane after strong interest and uptake in Melbourne and Sydney pilots.

AGL executive general manager future business and technology John Chambers says he was excited to bring the service to Brisbane: “Queensland is home to the world’s longest electric super highway, which means EV drivers can travel with ease from Cairns to Coolangatta.
“Our customers are a driving force in our path to a cleaner energy future and we’re excited to be expanding to Brisbane as EVs grow in popularity across the country.
“We want to help customers navigate the shift to an electric vehicle and this service provides the flexibility to do so with the ability to swap, upgrade or cancel at any time.”
He adds that AGL is confident Brisbane drivers are eager to embrace the new service with more than 300 expressions of interest in the first 90 days.
AGL has expanded the range of EVs available as part of the service, with the addition of the MG eZS, Australia’s newest and most affordable EV. The new MG will complement AGL’s existing range of leading brands like Tesla and Nissan, with users getting access to registration, insurance, tyres, repairs, roadside assistance, installation of an EV charger and carbon neutral credits as part of the subscription.
