More than 1,400 youths from 67 countries and over 55 areas of expertise will compete at this year’s WorldSkills competition in Kazan, Russia next month.

Once again, the technical focus will be on KNX, the world’s leading standard in the smart home and building sector. The competition is the world’s largest skills competition for people in vocational training.

Competitors will have the chance to prove their expertise as well as demonstrate their capabilities in organising work, concentration, problem solving, and flexibility. They will also demonstrate their potential for dealing with future technology KNX and lay the foundations for a successful career.

The competition has been using KNX as a technical basis for ten years.

KNX Association president Franz Kammerl says: “In an increasingly complex world, technologies like KNX offer young people the best opportunities for a successful future. We are proud to once again be the focus of the world’s largest skills competition. This underscores the importance of KNX as a future technology for tomorrow’s skilled workers.”

He adds that KNX will, once again, become a springboard for the careers of young people in a major growth market.
