AFL has released a new software test mode called FleXpress, a cutting-edge program for the FlexScan OTDR.

AFL, a leading provider of industry solutions and engineering advice, announced the upgrade to provide technicians with effective optical network solutions. FleXpress was created in January 2018, and AFL has released this latest enhancement in order to allow speedy dual-wavelength network verification at a rate more than five times faster than its predecessors.

Designed for technicians at any stage in their career, the FlexScan OTDRs are direct in troubleshooting optical networks in a quick and effective manner. Using smart/auto mode the multi-pulse OTDR’s quickly detect faults and effectively detect and measure network components and flaws. FlexScan is an all-inclusive device that integrates optional connector inspection, power meter and VFL and is ideal for technicians working with or resolving optical network issues.

When testing high-fibre count cables and MTP/ MPO connections FleXpress uses automated remote control of AFL optical switches. It automatically documents results and .SOR files, giving you the option to upload via the TRM 2.0 test results manager software for reporting requirements.

Available for the FlexScan FS200-300 (High Dynamic Range, 1310 & 1550nm) FleXpress test mode is also available for models FS200-304 (High Dynamic Range, 1310, 1550 & 1650nm).
