S-5!, manufacturers of solar solutions, has announced a new course, specifically designed for Australia and New Zealand on Thursday 1 April 2021 at 2pm AEDT.

Presented by S-5! vice president of research and development Dustin Haddock, it aims to help solar installers end the frustration when installing on metal roofs, identifying common challenges.

Some of the issues it will tackle are variation in roofing material, inconsistent fixing methodologies, maximising energy harvesting and more.

It’ll also speak about the S-5! PVKIT 2.0 which gives solar installers an innovative mounting solution that addresses these issues. A fraction of the weight and size of traditional rails, it helps reduce labour and speed up installations by 35% or more.

This course unpacks metal roof installations with a brief overview of the various types of metal roofs and their advantages for PV. Cable management techniques are presented in detail, along with other best practices and ‘how-to’s’ for installing rail-less solar systems on metal roofs. Finally, methods for installing various accessories from microinverters to home runs are discussed.
