Tradies in Paradise: QLD government calling for eligible tradies

Tradies across Australia are being lured to paradise with a new campaign to help flood-impacted Queensland communities rebuild and recover sooner while keeping the state’s strong economy growing.

The Queensland government’s Tradies in Paradise initiative offers up to $1,750 in cash bonuses to 1,000 eligible interstate tradespeople and building professionals (excluding NSW) who relocate and join the reconstruction effort.

Tradies are also encouraged to consider trading up to paradise for good, with Queensland facing a golden decade of growth and opportunity leading into the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the renewable energy boom.

The initiative provides links to licensing, employment and accommodation information to help interested tradies to explore their options and seek advice before deciding to relocate.

Tradies from New South Wales are not targeted as part of the initiative, given large-scale flood recovery also underway in their home state.
