Tongwei has unveiled its TNC 2.0 G12R-48 solar module to the Australian market.

Engineered for Australia’s increasingly severe climate conditions, the TNC 2.0 G12R-48 module is built around a dual-glass architecture featuring 2.0mm heat-strengthened glass. The company is positioning the module as a high-durability option for regions exposed to hail, cyclones and high wind loads.

Testing data released at the event shows the module withstanding 45mm hailstones at 30.8 m/s, a benchmark equivalent to a golf-ball impact. Structural improvements have lifted the front load rating from 5,400Pa to 6,000Pa and the rear load rating from 2,400Pa to 4,000Pa, almost a 67% increase, enabling resistance to wind speeds up to 167.76km/h.

The module has also completed cyclone testing at Australia’s Albright Laboratory and is certified for installation in Zone D, the country’s most extreme cyclone region. Alongside its strengthened construction, the TNC 2.0 G12R-48 maintains a high-power, high-efficiency output aimed at boosting long-term system yield in sun-exposed sites.
