Three weeks to go until BICSI South Pacific 2012 Conference and Exhibition
The event will be held 14-16 May at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney’s CBD.
The company has compiled a significant array of presentations, workshops and displays that will all emphasise the importance of ‘delivering best practice’ in our industry.

An impressive line-up of local and international speakers will help audiences learn many facets of best practice in business and technology fields, such as the NBN, data centres, convergence, optical-fibre and copper cabling, energy efficiency and our economy.
Speakers at the conference will include Mark Bouris from The Yellow Brick Road, Paul Evans from Cisco, Andrew Walther from NBN Co, John Stanton from Communications Alliance, Wayne Allen from Fluke Networks, Stan Bassett from HP, Rowan Peck from Norman Disney & Young, Doug Coleman from Corning US, from Emerson Network Power, Peter Lane from System Design & Comms Services NZ, Atikem Haile from Acterna US, Jason Rylands from DPSA and Patrick Attard from R&M.
The Day 1 expo will also be a major event in its own right, featuring seminars, workshops and product demonstrations. Seminar topics will include a cabling standards update, best-practice mechanical splicing for FTTH networks, best-practice from interpreting test results, best-practice in cabling pathways (cable trays and fire-stopping) and optical fibre in co-location data centres.
The workshops will provide visitors with hands-on lessons in best-practice in areas of fibre testing, sustainability in IP-based AV systems, equipment rack security, IP-CCTV, cable looming and OHS in the cabling workplace.
A highlight of the event will be the ‘Skills Challenge’ competition, where teams of cabling professionals will compete with each other to deploy a fully-functional NBN installation using best-practices that exemplify our conference theme. Visitors will be able to watch the competition take place up-close or throughout the expo area through CCTV cameras. And a celebrity MC will be giving some tips on how you can each personally deliver best-practice.
The exhibition will showcase network and cabling test equipment, optical fibre and connectivity, data centre power and environmental management, copper cabling and connectivity, the latest broadband infrastructure and content, cable tray systems, fire stopping systems, convergent IP-based technologies for medical environments, sophisticated enclosure security and management, mobile workforce management systems, business coaching services, labelling techniques and systems, HD IP-based surveillance systems and cabler directory services.
