A survey by Indeed predicts 5.5 million Australians are actively considering a job change in 2025, which is more than a third of Australia’s workforce.
According to the global 2025 Future of Jobs Survey, 70% of employers are expecting to hire staff with new skills over the next five years.

“Vocational education and training opens the door to meaningful, hands-on careers in industries that are growing and evolving,” NSW minister for skills, TAFE and tertiary education Steve Whan says.
“TAFE NSW plays a vital role in preparing students with the real-world skills and experience they need to thrive — whether they’re starting out, changing direction, or advancing their career. National Careers Week is a great opportunity to shine a light on the many fulfilling careers a TAFE NSW qualification can lead to.”
Max Stuart credits TAFE NSW for providing him with the skills necessary to thrive in the air-conditioning industry with a Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration.
“TAFE NSW gave me the tools to pivot in my career, and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. With consistently strong job demand in the industry, I’ve now taken my studies a step further by enrolling in a Certificate in Electrical, so I can handle almost all repair work myself.”
