Solar Victoria is set to roll out the $1 million training package Renewable Homes Construction Training for the residential construction industry to design and construct energy-efficient seven-star rated and all-electric homes.

Currently, Net Zero Homes – Skills Training and Home Efficiency Construction Roadshows are available. Those carrying out work in an eligible trade or profession in the residential construction industry in Victoria may be eligible for this free training.

Net Zero Homes – Skills Training is delivered through online self-paced training that will equip people working in residential construction in Victoria with the knowledge and skills needed to design and construct energy-efficient homes.

These online training modules are offered free to builders, tradespeople, contractors and others working in the residential construction industry. They include guidance on National Construction Code 2022 obligations such as new whole-of-home appliance requirements. In addition to practical skills, they cover the principles of residential energy efficiency, thermal performance and net zero energy design and construction.

Registrations for Home Efficiency Construction Roadshows are also now open. This training is delivered throughout metro and regional Victoria and online and will increase skills and knowledge in topics such as environmentally sustainable design and construction and home electrification.
