“ENGIE is committed to being a global leader in sustainable energy transition and we are delighted that Simply Energy is now working with Tesla Energy for the sale and installation of the Powerwall throughout Australia. Coupled with our solar PV offering, we see home battery storage playing a major role in the transition to a low carbon economy,” Ms Wishart said.
The Tesla Powerwall is attractively designed and is a conveniently-sized home battery capable of charging from a range of energy sources including solar panels or, from the grid, when utility rates are low. Automated, compact and simple to install, Powerwall enables customers to maximise self-consumption of solar power generation.
Ms Wishart said Simply Energy’s move into battery storage complemented the company’s commitment to delivering energy solutions.
“Simply Energy has grown by more than 70 per cent in less than three years, reaching close to 550,000 customers. We’re always looking for ways to help our customers save on household energy costs and are committed to providing solar and other energy efficiency solutions in addition to our traditional electricity and gas offering. The Tesla Powerwall battery storage solution is a logical and valuable addition to the range of services we offer,” she said.
