Siemon to release webinar on VersaPOD data centre cabinets
Siemon will soon release a webinar that demonstrates how VersaPOD data centre cabinets can be applied to deliver capital and operational savings. Titled Reducing Data Centre Costs by 46% While Cutting Deployment Time in Half , it will be presented by, Siemon’s global director of data centre solutions and services Carrie Higbie, and will take place on October 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. EDT.
With fewer, wider VersaPOD cabinets in the same footprint as 600mm server cabinets, more power can be allocated per cabinet to support more servers without sacrificing floor space. Additionally, the VersaPOD’s ability to share connectivity, patching and power in the Zero-U space between bayed cabinets can reduce stranded power outlets by 75% and deliver an overall cost saving for cabinets, PDUs and patching of at least 46%. Further savings can be achieved by deploying Siemon V-Built preconfigured data centre cabinet solution. These custom-kitted, preloaded cabinets arrive at the data centre site ready to install active equipment, reducing the labour and time required to go live by as much as 50% while easing scalability and optimising performance.
“As data centres strive to cut both capital and operating expense, saving material cost and space, improving power usage and cutting deployment time are more critical than ever,” says Higbie. “This webinar demonstrates how data centre owners and operators can combine innovative cabinet solutions and unique design and deployment methods to deliver superior savings without sacrificing space, scalability and performance.”
