SATEC introduces EM133-XM for easier integration and faster metering deployments
SATEC has introduced the EM133-XM smart meter for revenue metering, renewables, NABERS and Green Star reporting and power of choice applications.
With the optional Ethernet TCP/IP module, the EM133-XM supports simultaneous RS-485 and Ethernet communications on a single device. This upgrade turns the meter into an integrated node for SCADA, BMS and cloud-based energy platforms.

Installers can address each meter directly, use standard IT tools such as ping, IP scanners and browser access through the built-in web server and run SATEC PAS over Modbus TCP for faster setup and diagnostics.
Dual communications also provide flexibility. Sites can retain Modbus RTU over RS-485 while adding Ethernet TCP/IP as a second path for SCADA, BMS or cloud systems. The Ethernet module supports Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 60870-5-104, Expertpower client, TCP notification client, multiple sockets and an onboard web server.
Because the meter communicates natively over IP, many installations can reduce or eliminate separate protocol converters and serial gateways, cutting complexity, cost and potential failure points.
Ethernet connectivity also makes it easier to stream interval data to Expertpower and other MDM or billing platforms. This supports centralised dashboards and scalable deployments, without the cable length and node limits that come with RS-485 networks.
