SafeWork NSW and NECA are working together to promote safe working practices and hazard awareness in the electrotechnology industry.

Workshops across the state will showcase hazards that electrical workers are exposed to on a daily basis.  Asbestos, lead, crystalline silica, heavy metals found in light globes and fittings, and electromagnetic radiation will all be covered.

Attending these workshops is highly recommended as it is a great way for workers to familiarise themselves with these types of hazards.

The workshops will give basic awareness training and will go over handling tips and PPE for the everyday electrician.

All workshops will be free, run from September to November 2017 and be based on the Safety guide for workers in the electrical, communications, data and electronic security industries or simply known as NECA’s Red Book.
