A new website for registered cablers is set to be launched and forwarded to the industry for comment.

The website, www.regsiteredcablers.com.au, has received positive support from RSP’s such as Telstra , Optus and iPrimus and Government bodies such as DBCDE, ACCAN and the Communication Alliance. The registrars for NECA, BICSI, ASIAL and FPA. TITAB are also close to agreement on the final wording on the website.

The first stage will be to communicate through the registrars to an estimated 65,000 registered cablers across Australia to encourage them to register on the site. It is estimated that approximately 5,000 cablers will be directed to the site.

The second stage will be to encourage the registered cablers to publish personalised NBN promotional material from the website and distribute to potential NBN customers in their areas. This will most likely be done by letter box drop and by mail.

NBN, DBCDE, ACCAN and the Communications Alliance are also expected to refer consumers to the site.

The ‘Industry’ section of the website will ultimately carry members’ advertisements and in due course will have a database targeting NBN installers, which may be regularly accessed through electronic newsletter software.
