Qcells releases new battery solution
Global solar company, Qcells, has launched the contemporary Q.HOME CORE energy storage system (ESS) in Australia with an industry-leading 15-year warranty.
Manufactured in South Korea, this technology will be the first ESS to have a 15-year product warranty, the longest standard warranty from any battery provider in Australia, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for producing a high-quality product.

Evident of the current appetite for residential solar batteries, Qcells Australia saw a 194% growth in ESS sales in July 2022 compared to the first quarter of the calendar year. As Australians embrace renewables to counter the skyrocketing prices of energy, the Q.HOME CORE provides a solution for those looking to make the move to battery storage.
With around 30% of all Australian homes fitted with rooftop solar PV, and more than three million rooftop solar PV systems installed across the nation, Australia has the highest penetration of solar globally. The new modular storage system is suitable for homes looking for both solar and battery solutions, and for those with an existing solar system installed.
The Q.HOME CORE combines premium design with affordable pricing, ensuring your unused solar energy can be accessed all day, reducing your grid energy use by 80% on average, compared to 40% when using only rooftop solar.
Qcells Australia managing director, Jin Han, says he’s proud to share the Q.HOME CORE with Australian consumers: “Combining technology and style, the Q.HOME CORE is a welcome addition to Australia’s solar ecosystem, proving you don’t have to compromise on design when it comes to sustainability.
“The Qcells total solar solution offers the design-forward battery storage product Australians are looking for to showcase their commitment to renewable energy in their own home.”
“Almost every Australian has felt the bite of power prices rising, and we’ve also seen more homeowners embrace batteries as these costs have surged. As bill shock affects households across Australia, we continue to hear stories from homeowners who made the jump to solar and storage solutions, and are reaping the benefits of their decision.”
The modular system consists of a Q.VOLT inverter, which has a 5.0kW capacity and the option for hybrid or AC-coupled integration, meaning that the system works seamlessly with new and existing solar modules. The Q.SAVE battery uses a Samsung SDI lithium-ion cell with a storage volume of 6.86kWh and can be connected with up to three additional units for a maximum of 20.5kWh capacity.
The batteries are able to be both floor and wall mounted and include an app enabling households to monitor their system data.
