Newest edition of Electrical Industry Guide to Workplace Safety released
Prominent topics included in this year’s edition ranges from National Work Health and Safety laws to working in challenging environments. In this industry, it is vital to comply with relevant legislation and Codes of Practice in order to achieve safe work systems. The guide also mentions the relevance of complying with the Work Health and Safety Act to reduce the risk of potential harm and injuries.

It is important for every worker to be educated about the safety precautions when working in any condition, whether it is at various height levels or confined spaces. These conditions are often exposed to workers; therefore necessary procedures must be taken, including preparing a Safe Work Method Statement. This identifies and classifies the work that falls under high risk construction work.
Risk assessment is once again a vital component in the workforce. Being able to assess and prioritise the level of risks that could potentially occur depends upon the employees and whether or not they have complied with the safety procedures.
“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the Electrical Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2014/15. Their support has made it possible for the guide to be distributed free of charge,” Pro-Visual Publishing chief executive John Hutchings says.
