NECA WA strongly supports ECA WA’s decision to undertake a recruitment campaign throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland in early 2023, to address the industry’s chronic skills shortage by attracting qualified electrical workers who are willing to relocate to Western Australia using the skilled migration pathway.

ECA WA will be coordinating a recruitment campaign across the Christmas period, alongside MPA Skills, the Motor Trade Association of WA and the Pharmacy Guild of WA, whose industries are also facing worker shortages, to attract candidates from the UK and Ireland.

ECA WA wants to begin laying the groundwork now by attracting applicants, so it can begin to fill vacant positions here in WA as soon as possible. Their aim is to have people commencing work within the next 12 months.
