NECA WA Excellence and Apprentice Awards

necaThe best Western Australian (WA) electrical and communications contractors and apprentices were recognised at the annual electrical industry Excellence and Apprentice Awards hosted by peak Australian industry body the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA).

In the Excellence Awards, NECA WA awarded ten major awards with a record number of nominations and in the Apprentice Awards there were six award recipients. Finalists were presented in front of 515 industry representatives including contractors, suppliers, educators and government representatives at the pinnacle showcase of the electrical and communications industry at Crown, Perth.

NECA WA also had the opportunity to present Stephen Cole with the Life Membership Award for his involvement with NECA for over 22 consecutive years and the Apprentice Awards were presented by the Hon. Liza Harvey- Minister for Police; Road Safety; Training and Workforce Development and Women’s Interest.

Executive Director of NECA Western Australia, Mr Garry Itzstein said the winning companies and apprentices were chosen because of their commitment to excellence, significant engineering achievements and finishing the complex jobs on time.

“The judging panel were privileged to view such high quality projects and as always, NECA members have played a critical role in some of the largest and most diverse construction jobs in the state,” said Mr Itzstein.
