“NECA acknowledges the excellent work of the Brian Miller Construction Safety Education Forum and congratulates all the construction industry participants that have made this possible. We are proud to be able to display the winner’s logo.”
The aim of the Forum is to improve health and safety in the construction industry by imparting knowledge acquired through research and experience, and sharing the learning with the industry as a whole.
The Forum has grown out of a volunteer organisation set up in 1994 to gather like-minded industry participants to promote safety and coordinate construction safety field days. It was known as Safety Field Day.
Field days are conducted every second month and these meetings attract participants at all levels and typically include presentations, demonstrations and discussions on topical safety issues.
The Forum also initiates or promotes research and development projects which look at practical safety solutions in areas that are critical to the industry such as swing stage, fall protection, fatigue and safe work method statements.
Attendance and participation at meetings is excellent and as a vibrant promoter of safety this voluntary organisation is unique in Australia.
