variokeystone range

Molex Premise Networks has released the VarioKeystone product range which comprise of S/FTP Cat 7 cable, cable plugs, Cat 6A and Cat 7 inserts and unloaded patch panels, wall outlets and patch cords.
The basic elements of the system are cable plugs installed on Ethernet cables and a set of exchangeable inserts that makes it possible to exchange Cat 6A, Cat 7 or doublemodule jacks without re-termination of conductors or re-testing of electrical parameters. VarioKeystone is a flexible structure allowing for easy cable ‘upgrade’ of the system to a different transmission standard, as well as the possibility of combining two low-speed applications in a single module.

Shielded Cat 6A and C7 TERA inserts can be installed in a cable plug previously terminated on a cable. Installation is simple – just insert the cross-shaped part of the insert into a cable plug. The mating rear cross-shaped section of the inserts prevents incorrect installation. Insertion and removal of inserts may be performed many times without loss of connection quality. A tool is available for unplugging the inserts and a wide range of patch cords allows for channels operating at Category 7 using the TERA connector to 4, 2 and even 1-pair RJ45 plug.

The VarioKeystone system can be used with other Molex Premise Networks products including the Lightband Fibre Optic product range, ModLink plug and play systems and Vertical Rack Management system.
