Gossen Metrawatt has released a new TRMS, 4¾ digit interturn short-circuit detection and insulation test multimeter, the Metrahit, designed for motors and other industrial plants.

The Metrahit features an insulation resistance measurement of up to 3.1GΩ with detection of interference voltage, and test voltages of 50V, 100V, 250V, 500V, 1,000V. Interturn short-circuit detection via comparative measurements at the motor coils include asymmetry in case of interturn short-circuit, TRMS AC and AC+DC, waveform-independent measurement of RMS voltage and current values up to 10KHz. Multimeter functions include VAC, VDC, VAC+DC, AAC, ADC, AAC+DC, ACLIP, Ω, diode/continuity, F, %, Hz, °C/°F (TC,RTD).

There is auto-ranging automatic adjustment of the measuring range for optimised resolution and a 1kHz low-pass filter can be activated for filtering voltage peaks. Data memory for up to 15,000 measured values with date and time is included.
