Marathon Group custom-designed and built electrical substations

An Australian manufacturer is now providing custom-designed and built electrical substations to the energy industry, mining sector, public works and general industrial arena.

Marathon Group, already recognised for its expertise in manufactured buildings for both the commercial sector and industry, says it is uncommon for a manufacturer of transportable industrial buildings to be making substations.

This is mainly because of the heavy gauge of steel required; but this is not an issue for Marathon Group due to its large manufacturing premises and experience serving the mining and energy sectors in particular.

Each substation unit is a custom- designed and built heavy structural steel construction, specifically engineered to accommodate the specific needs of substations operators and electrical equipment.

These structures can be manufactured with just about any feature normally associated with a substation including rails, platforms, stairs or any other feature that is requested.

Security locks are provided where requested at entry points to ensure the heighest on-site safety levels and protection against break-ins.

Marathon fits its substations with internal gyprocking as a standard and all buildings that roll off the production line are fire rated.

All heavily engineered, these units are not limited to stock sizes – they are all made to specific requirements relative to size and fitout.

Lifting lugs are provided so as to allow simplified crane movements both for general transport and when placing into position on site (and for relocation should that be required)

Colours are totally customisable to the end user’s requirements to allow matching to corporate identification or to heighten visibility for greater safety.
