Management changes at Beacon Lighting
The leadership change comes after Ian Robinson’s decision to gradually reduce his responsibilities in the company over the next few years.
Effective 1 July, 2013, the move will see significant changes in the structure of the business, with the roles of the executive team firmly focused on maintaining the success of Beacon Lighting and its associated businesses.

As the new chief executive, Glen Robinson will assume primary responsibility for overseeing the sales and wholesale business, while maintaining responsibility for the Beacon Lighting product offering.
In the newly created position of managing director, former national sales manager Ian Bunnett will adopt a stronger leadership role to ensure all Beacon Lighting stores, commercial and websales businesses continue to shine.
As group marketing manager reporting to the new chief executive, Prue Robinson will head a strong team with a firm focus on driving sales. The remainder of the executive team, Barry Martens (chief operating officer), David Speirs (chief financial officer) and Elizabeth Mikkelsen (group HR manager), will continue to report to Ian Robinson, facilitating the growth across all current Beacon Lighting businesses and exploring new business opportunities for the future.
“The new structure places a stronger emphasis on the core of our business,” Ian says.
“With Glen overseeing such an experienced and dedicated management team, the values and strengths that have been at the heart of our success for 40 years will continue into the next generation.”
With Beacon Lighting anticipating the structure will continue to evolve as Ian Robinson scales back his involvement, the new management line--up is committed to delivering a vision for the future that strengthens its reputation as one of Australia’s brightest retailers.
