Legend Corporation has acquired 100% of Acculec Group, a designer and supplier of HV products for power utilities, infrastructure, renewable power and industrial projects in Australia and New Zealand.

The transaction completed on 22 April 2021 with financial details not disclosed.

The move extends the capabilities of Legend’s HV power business, helping it extend in several growing end-markets.

“Acculec strengthens our business and brings key high-voltage power transmission and distribution capabilities to Legend, complementing our already well-established medium voltage product lines,” Legend chief executive Gary Uren says.

“One of the things that really attracted us to Acculec was its market reputation for engineering skillsets and its strong relationships with key global players in the medium and high voltage markets.”

Legend sales director, power systems Danny Bravo says the combination of the two means Legend can create a unique packaged product solution across the entire network of power generation, transmission and distribution.

‘It also provides Legend with a stronger edge to compete for larger scale projects in renewables, infrastructure and mining sectors – all of which offer significant near-term growth prospects to Legend and diversify our end market exposure,” he says.
