Landmark accreditation program launches for the lighting industry
To boost the credentials of businesses throughout the sector, the Lighting Council Australia (LCA) has launched an accreditation program for the lighting industry.
The program aims to arm participating businesses across six key skills areas. The areas include regulatory compliance, product safety and conformity, environmental responsibility, social responsibility, quality systems and product stewardship.

LCA chief executive Malcolm Richards says the program will assist in its mission to foster a high-quality, sustainable, environmentally and socially responsible lighting industry.
“As the peak lighting industry body, we are committed to providing businesses across the sector with the tools they need to take their operations to the next level,” he says.
“This landmark accreditation program is a giant step in that direction. The program has been expertly developed via consultation with industry, members and key stakeholders throughout the sector.”
The program is undertaken online, and a Certificate of Accreditation is issued upon successful completion. To achieve certification, the business must provide evidence of compliance across the six key areas.
Accreditation is maintained through an annual audit and compliance reporting.
