KNX and NECA now working together
KNX is the worldwide standard for home and building control and automation and NECA is the peak body of the electrical and communications industry of Australia. The two organisations share important synergies given the wide range of electrical and communications products available on the Australian market.
“We are committed to helping our members find the best products and technologies for their clients. Compatibility between the products offered by different manufacturers is becoming an expectation by most electrical contractors. So this is a great new development for our members,” says James Tinslay, NECA CEO.

NECA members will benefit from KNX’s manufacturer-independent open protocol providing a truly converged solution in home and building automation on a single platform. Being defined by an international standard (IEC14543), KNX allows NECA members to protect the future requirements of a project with the assurance of an international standard.
“The International KNX Association is very pleased to be working with the peak electrical body of Australia”, commented Heinz Lux, CEO KNX Association in Brussels.
“The range of interoperable KNX products on offer from over 300 manufacturers is growing daily and when you look at projects like Taronga Zoo in Sydney, you see just how complex and varied an electrical installation can be,” he added.
