JET Charge has been chosen as the charging hardware solution provider for the longest EV highway in Australia. The project is set to extend for more than 5,300kms across Western Australia.

Synergy and Horizon Power are working with the WA Government to create Australia’s longest EV charging network. This project is part of the McGowan Government’s $43.5 million Electric Vehicle Fund and delivers on the State Electric Vehicle Action Plan for Western Australia.

This project will see a range of EV chargers installed at locations across the WA, from Kununurra in the north to Esperance in the south, and Eucla in the east. Upon its completion, EV drivers will have access to 98 EV chargers spread across 49 locations along major transport routes, ensuring EV owners can explore the state with the confidence that a charger is just down the road.

The project will also see the instalment of both AC and rapid DC charging stations up to 150kW including a high proportion of Australian Made technology and innovation.

JET Charge’s expertise will ensure Synergy and Horizon Power provide Western Australians with the ability, comfort, and certainty to access fast charging facilities at 49 locations across the state.

“We started JET Charge almost a decade ago to accelerate the transition to low emissions vehicles in Australia by breaking down the barriers to EV charging,” JET Charge chief executive, Tim Washington, says.

“JET Charge is so proud to be involved with a landmark EV charging network that features a lot of Australian-made innovation, and will absolutely smash those barriers allowing people to drive EV’s all over the great State of Western Australia.”
