JDSU has introduced the newest version of its wireless network optimisation platform, Drive Test v17.0, part of a customisable, scalable solution.

While providing innovative management for today’s 3G/4G networks, this release continues the JDSU commitment to protect operators’ investments by building hardware that can quickly incorporate new technology via software upgrades.

Faster Testing: Don’t wrestle with time-consuming manual configuration. JDSU’s superior LTE and WCDMA device auto detection, auto configuration and auto measurement view population allows you to do more quickly.

Rapidly validate high definition voice quality: Voice is now an IP service—many operators are launching VoLTE in 2013, and it is imperative to test before customers raise quality issues. JDSU now supports the ITU IP voice standard for 3G and 4G/LTE networks (POLQA.)

Verify revenue-generating services as subscribers use them–from a handheld: The unique handheld parallel test sequencer from JDSU allows verification of the network and services from a subscriber perspective. The graphical test sequencer improves service quality and lowers your costs by dramatically reducing test time.

Use case: There are many occasions where engineers need to deploy a new cell site, add a new overlay frequency, or revalidate existing frequencies. This is a costly and time consuming exercise, and should be performed only once. Previously, when testing a specific frequency, devices could hand off to the cell with optimal conditions, nullifying the exercise. Users can now lock the handset (Samsung Galaxy SIII) to a specific frequency, guaranteeing that the device will remain there regardless of network conditions—saving time while generating revenue from additional frequencies.

JDSU Drive Test Solutions are currently in use at many of the world’s largest mobile operators, enhancing the customer experience every day. For more information about the wireless network optimisation platform, visit our website.
