Ivory Egg, one of the KNX technical distributors in Australia, has announced it will be supporting the University of Wollongong (UOW) Solar Decathlon Team.

The Solar Decathlon, which is often referred to as the Energy Olympics, is a contest that challenges university teams from around the world to design, build and operate sustainable solar powered homes. The next competition is being held in Dubai in 2018.

The UOW team will start with their project ‘Desert Rose’, a technologically advanced, age friendly home that is aiming to change the way the world views sustainable housing. The team is creating a ‘house for life’ that is adaptive to a person’s needs as they age, architecturally inspiring and affordable. It will feature KNX technology as the preferred building control protocol and Ivory Egg will be sponsoring the team by providing the required KNX training and sharing its extensive product knowledge.
