HPM has extended its outdoor light sensitive switch range with the new Programmable Weatherproof Light Sensitive Switch (PE170R2).

Unlike conventional light sensitive switches, which work on a time delay from sunset, the new programmable model allows an off time to be defined, which will remain consistent all year – regardless of seasonal changes in sunrise/sunset times.

Engineered with a built-in algorithm that controls and maintains the nominated off time, adjustments can be easily made using a dial system in 30 minute increments, or for dawn (which is natural light dependent).

Ideal for commercial and multi-residential premises, the new PE170R2 model is compatible with the existing HPM Weatherproof Light Sensitive Switch (PE170/10) mountain base for easy retro-fitting.

The new Programmable Weatherproof Light Sensitive Switch features:

• user defined off time, maintained all year round
• adjustable LUX setting (for on time)
• non-volatile memory to ensure the program is restored after power loss
• suitable for all loads
• multiple side and back cable entries 25mm Ø for easy wiring
• generous space for cable management
• weatherproof rating IP56.

Furthermore, the iconic HPM Weatherproof Light Sensitive Switch has been upgraded to include better screw terminal connectors, a larger internal cavity for cable management and more suitable cover design. Still simple to install, it is an effective solution where specific off times are not required.
