Deepwater Plaza Shopping Centre, located in Woy Woy on the New South Wales Central Coast, has recently taken steps in sustainability by installing the largest shopping centre solar system on the Central Coast.

With fluctuating electricity costs impacting budget on a consistent basis, Sustainability & Projects coordinator Paul Briggs worked in conjunction with energy efficiency specialists Go Energy on a viable solution to these rising costs: “It was important to us to decrease our reliance on black energy from the grid and focus on a more sustainable source.”

Go Energy designed a custom solar system specific to their premises, incorporating the roof size and energy consumption history into the overall strategy. This ensured maximum benefit to Deepwater Plaza, with the solar system producing adequate power for their operations and effectively reducing electricity costs and reliance on the grid. Finished in time for the establishment’s thirtieth year in business, it signifies another chapter in their evolution.

The Go Energy ‘Energy Truck’ will be on display showcasing energy efficient solutions at Deepwater Plaza on Wednesday April 9 between 11am – 2pm.
