General Machine Products Company (GMP) has introduced the J2 Cable Lashing Machine.

It is designed to wind stainless steel wire around new or previously installed cables, thereby “lashing” the cable to the supporting messenger strand that spans between utility poles.

The J2 Lasher can lash single or multiple aerial cable bundles up to 76mm in diameter on a suspension strand of 6mm to 11mm. It has an all-range tensioning device to optimize strand traction and high strength front and rear gates for tighter cable lashing.

The Lasher features a built-in mechanical brake to prevent unintended reversal and an automatic drum lock for easy span transfer. The J2 Lasher comes with dual wire magazines for housing stainless steel lashing wire, a 1.82m towing bridle, and a storage chest.
