Australian manufacturer, Gerard Lighting has launched a new range of Diginet  LEDSmart dimmers, timers and electronic light switches. The range features MultiMate Technology which allows electricians to provide an easy to install and cost effective solution for both single point and multi way dimming solutions.

“Dimming from one location was always the accepted industry standard.  The Research and Development team at Gerard Lighting made a conscious decision to devise a way to change this.  And one evening in April, deep in the Gerard lighting Lab, one of our engineers discovered a way to wire dimmers in parallel with every dimmer becoming a control point,” said Gerard Lighting group general manager research and development Jason Gerard.

“With global patents pending, these new multi-way dimmers will revolutionise the lighting control space, both locally and further abroad.  This is Australian technology and innovation at its best.”

Electricians can now easily provide multi-way dimming solutions for their customers.  Only one type of LEDSmart dimmer is required for all applications, single and multi-way, all load types and all wall plates.  It is a great advancement for consumers who now have the ability to dim the same light from multiple locations in one room.

The new range of dimmers, switches and timers provide optimised dimming of LED based lamps and drivers. The high quality, two wire phase control wall plate range has a minimum load rating of 1W, allowing it to adapt to a wide range of available LED lighting products. Although optimised for LED lighting loads, the dimmers also provide excellent compatibility with other common lamp types such as incandescent lamps, 12V halogen lamps and dimmable CFL’s.

“Unlike current solutions which require expensive control systems and additional complex wiring, the new and innovative LEDSmart range has an integrated switch, therefore no separate switches or additional strappers are required to provide multi-way dimming and on/off control. This new range is the ultimate simple solution to multi-way lighting control,” said Gerard Lighting executive general manager Ben Mills.

The new Diginet  LEDSmart range includes a Rotary Dimmer, Push Button Dimmer, Push Button Hour timer, Push Button Minute timer and Push Button Switch.
