Fronius have a vision that electricity generated from solar panels should also be available at night and this requires a storage medium, a battery and until now this has come from external patterns.

Fronius Reserva is a high-voltage battery with DC coupling that guarantees almost loss-free charging and discharging performance.

Capacities between 6.3 and 15.8kWh are possible with two to five modules and the storage modules are stacked in top of each other like building blocks as a plug-and-play connection without the need for cabling. A total of up to four battery towers can be connected in parallel to achieve a maximum storage capacity of 63kWh.

Fronius chief sales officer Harald Scherleitner says that customers will benefit from all the components for a complete photovoltaics system.

“We are now offering solar power as a complete package, supplying everything from a single source and there are several advantages,” he says.

“Firstly, all products are perfectly matched to each other, and secondly, it only takes one app for complete energy management. And finally, it makes life easier for our customers by eliminating the tedious search for different manufacturers, one contact person is all that is needed.”

Reversa is matched to two hybrid inverters, Fronius GEN24 Plus and Fronius Verto Pluto, meaning it can be integrated into existing photovoltaic systems.

The Solar.webb app is all the software needed and the Fronius Reserva status display shows the current charge status and indicates if there is a fault.

“It is important to us that our customers not only always have their data available, but also that they are safe in the knowledge that is protected,” Harald says.

“That’s why we rely on the highest security standards and store all customer data exclusively on European servers. We conduct regular security audits by renowned companies and provide mandatory training within our software development as a matter of course.”

Fronius Reserva is backup power and black start capable, meaning the battery can continue to be charged and discharged even in the event of a power failure.

The cells of the battery storage system are made of lithium iron phosphate, a cobalt-free material which are durable and low-maintenance, making it ideal for both indoor and protected outdoor use.
