ESYLUX has introduced the PD 180/16 BASIC BMS DALI-2, a wall-mounted presence detector designed for DALI-2 bus systems.

The device functions as an input sensor, sending data on presence and ambient brightness to the connected control unit. Powered directly from the two-wire DALI bus, it can replace conventional light switches without additional cabling. Multiple cover variants are available to expand application options.

Typical installations include corridors, stairwells and sanitary areas, where non-contact lighting improves hygiene in high-traffic spaces. The PD 180/16 BASIC BMS DALI-2 supports detection up to 16m in diameter and measures light levels between 5-2,000 Lux.

For projects prioritising flexibility over hygiene, the detector includes two inputs for conventional push buttons. A range of accessory covers in different colours ensures compatibility with popular switch brands, including versions with IP44 and flush-mounted boxes. Five detector variants for the SNAPFIX mounting system from Swiss manufacturer Feller, including IP55 models, can be quickly snapped into place on pre-mounted adapters without bolts or screws.
