The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has released a product recall notice for the DKSH Australia Pty Ltd “PVPower” branded DC isolator.

What are the defects?

The product features an internal fault, where a high resistant connection may form

What are the hazards?

There is a risk that the DC isolator may overheat and, in some cases, cause fire

What should electrical contractors/installers/consumers do?

The solar PV system should be shut down following the appropriate shutdown procedure. This information is normally found either in the customer documentation or on a label near the inverter. If you are unsure of the shutdown procedure, contact your solar retailer as soon as possible. The DC isolators are required to be replaced.
