Ektor releases world’s first DALI-2-certified emergency exit

Ektor has released the Mercury Professional 24m, the world’s first DALI-2-certified maintained exit sign.

DALI, a widely-used industry-standardised protocol for lighting control, ensures that products function as expected, delivering a consistent experience through the system’s life cycle.

A strong focus of DALI-2 is backward compatibility and interoperability of products across suppliers, giving increased freedom, availability and choice for installers and customers.

To identify edge case discrepancies in emergency type C devices, Ektor worked with the DiiA Technical Director to verify, test, and update the DiiA sequences. The Mercury Professional 24m emergency exit sign was tested to IEC62386 (Part 101 Edition 2, Part 102 Edition 2, and Part 202 Edition 1), which ensures compliance when used with a DALI-2 control system.

“At Ektor, we are on a mission to offer value to our customers through continuous innovation and working with the DiiA is a big part of that. We are so excited to announce that we are the first company internationally to achieve DALI-2 certification for emergency exit signage,” Evolt managing director Joshua Newell says.

“We believe DALI is the protocol of choice for smart emergencies and look forward to bringing more DALI-2 products to market in the near future.”
