Commissioning capability takes an evolutionary leap
EnvisionProject 2.0 introduces many new features, the most noticeable being the new Plan View which presents a graphical view of a building’s control architecture to further accelerate the commissioning process. All the new developments in EnvisionProject 2.0 have been designed to ensure rapid implementation of the most powerful features available from a Philips Dynalite intelligent building control system.
According to Philips Global Product Marketing Manager – IIS, Phil Main, EnvisionProject 2.0 encompasses all elements of previous Philips Dynalite commissioning software and packages them into a single commissioning tool. “EnvisionProject 2.0 adopts a simple, easy-to-learn approach that provides powerful results when configuring the system,” he said. “It is a tool that is compatible with every product in the company’s current portfolio. Moreover, it is suitable for all market segments and scalable to projects of any size—from a smart apartment to a solution for the world’s tallest buildings.”

Designed to minimise the time required on site when commissioning, many of the set up tasks can be done before the engineer has even visited the project. Once on site, EnvisionProject 2.0 presents a state-of-the-art graphical interface to equip the commissioning engineer with a comprehensive system view to complete efficient component assignment, essential to getting a system operational.
Post installation, any maintenance can be overseen remotely, allowing system diagnostics and a range of functional changes to be accomplished by Philips Dynalite technicians without any requirement for a site visit.
The consolidation of commissioning tools into a dedicated software package is expected to have a profound impact on the market. The Plan View commissioning process will be integrated into all future training and online learning content is already available for existing installers to learn the new software features at their own speed and in their own time. “There is an extremely shallow learning curve for existing EnvisionProject users,” said Main. “In practice EnvisionProject 2.0 is so intuitive that most existing current users will understand the new software immediately.”
Philips Dynalite’s software-commissioning tools have evolved over time in line with the scale of the projects in which the company has been involved. While Philips Dynalite still engages in smaller residential and commercial developments, the company is a market leader in large, complex and innovative lighting control projects. In this respect, EnvisionProject 2.0 is an important evolutionary step for Philips Dynalite, as it consolidates all possible commissioning requirements for projects large and small into a single powerful package.
In development for the last 12 months, EnvisionProject 2.0 is available now from your local Philips Dynalite supplier. “We are realigning all our commissioning processes with a new generation of rapid implementation tools,” said Main. “As part of our continuous improvement program for our software, EP2.0 is an exciting evolution that should improve productivity for users and enable powerful results to be achieved in very little time.”
