“Saturn Zen is a beautiful combination of elegance and simplicity and the designers have created an innovative solution for wall switches and power outlets that will complement any interior fit out,” said the Australian Good Design Award judges.
“This is a very competitive market and the designers (of the Saturn Zen switch) have truly understood their customer to deliver a high-end, quality product where the technical sophistication has been elegantly and intuitively presented.”
Clipsal by Schneider Electric’s Saturn Zen is a range of stylish light switches and power outlets which offer a number of features such as a matte black or white finger-print resistant finishes and LED push buttons which light up to show which switch is in operation. Optional LED pictogram icons can also be customised on each button for easy switch identification.
“We are absolutely delighted to have won such a highly regarded award. Saturn Zen was designed as part of a new range of switches which aim to combine modern design with genuine practicality to allow any homeowner to simply and subtly control lights and electrical accessories,” said vice president Clipsal and Schneider Electric Partner business David Gardner.
“With the beauty of simplicity at its core, Saturn Zen makes sophisticated and on trend home design easy by offering a number of tech savvy features at an affordable price so any homeowner can benefit from its look and range of innovative functions.”
Saturn Zen, which was locally designed in Adelaide, also offers a USB charger and ‘Smart Shelf’ option which can hold up to two smart phones or one tablet while charging and can be integrated with C-Bus home automation technology, allowing switches to offer automated dimming and switching.
“We were up against some tough competition and judging for the awards is rigorous. However, we pride ourselves on the innovation and uniqueness of all our products and winning this award means our achievements have been recognised not just by our customers but by the design industry as well,” said Gardner.
Another product in the Schneider Electric range, Push Controls, was also shortlisted for the awards this year.
Push by Schneider Electric is a highly intuitive, affordable and scalable home automation system that is controlled by one simple interface and was designed right here in Australia by a team of local innovators.
“Push Controls broke into the home automation market only a few years ago and has now become an integral part of how many Australians interact with technology in their home. It was wonderful to see this design also recognised as a user friendly and visually appealing product through the shortlist nomination,” said Gardner.
