CEDIA Expo… Day one.
For those of you who have never had the opportunity to visit a CEDIA Expo in the US, be aware that it is a very different beast to our local show.
Yes, there’s a lot of flash – sleek new speakers, thinner displays, brighter projectors – but there are a number of products and tools that are offering a glimpse at where this market is heading.

It has also been an interesting event as products that showed a lot of promise have failed to impress, while others that avoided the limelight have been met with much fanfare.
Of course, every new technology these days has an alliance behind it, and none moreso than HDBaseT. Appearing in products from Crestron, Kordz, TE Connectivity and Kramer (to name but a few), this 5-play technology appears to be the platform of the future.
Possibly the most impressive device to launch was the Sony HMZ-T1 headset. This interactive 3D device will undoubtedly change the way your clients enjoy TV.
And, also showing that 3DTV isn’t quite dead was a nifty little device from Structured Cable Products, distributed in Australia by Home Theatre Group, called 3D Now, which turns any 2D display device into a 3D display.
We will continue to update you with the latest from the show, and will give you a full wrap up in the November edition of Connected Home.
Until next time,
Paul.
