The size of a refrigerator, the BPT-S 5 Hybrid stores the electricity produced during the day so that a family can draw on it when the sun goes down. The BPT-S 5 Hybrid is based on high-performance lithium-ion batteries with a storage capacity of 4.4 kWh, which can be expanded as required in modular steps of 2.2kWh up to a maximum of 13.2kWh.

Bosch’s storage solution helps users to be more independent from the public power grid. As a result of this intelligent energy management system, the proportion of self-generated solar power in a four person household can be increased from 30 to up to 75% or more – without having to change
consumption behaviour. Thanks to fast high charging and discharging, the BPT-S 5 Hybrid ensures supply of the household electricity from the internal PV system even during the day. If PV production suddenly falls, then these energy requirements are also covered by electricity from the storage system.

New string inverters with RFID technology

The new string inverters from Bosch are equipped with RFID technology for fast and error free commissioning. Bosch’s e.World communication system significantly simplifies the planning, installation and monitoring of photovoltaic systems via the e.key, a credit card sized storage card.

e.World also offers the installer and operator numerous access opportunities through the innovative networking of solar inverters with the peripheral devices. The e.World internet portal is available to installers to provide the range of component and performance data relating to the system at all times. It also provides opportunities to communicate with the inverter via a smart phone using the e.World app.
