More than 100 TAFE Queensland students will represent the state at the 2025 WorldSkills Australia National Championships in Brisbane, on 12–14 June.

The event is the nation’s largest showcase of vocational talent, bringing together hundreds of the country’s most skilled apprentices, trainees and students to compete across 63 skill areas – from carpentry to cloud computing.

The event is especially important for competitors who want to compete in the international WorldSkills events, as top performers in eligible skills may earn a coveted spot in Team Australia, The Skillaroos, at the 48th WorldSkills competition in Shanghai, China in 2026.

TAFE Queensland chief executive John Tucker says that the institute is excited to continue supporting WorldSkills Australia and has partnered with the Queensland Government to bring the event to Queensland.

“As the largest and most trusted Vocational Education and Training (VET) provider in the state, TAFE Queensland’s students and teachers are among the best trained and most skilled in Australia,” he says.

“The WorldSkills Australia 2025 National Championships and Skills Show underscores our leadership in the training market and our commitment to providing industry-relevant training that transforms lives, industries and communities.”
