Austest Laboratories’ Grand Opening of New EMC Emissions Chamber a Success
The Managing Director of Austest Laboratories, Martin Garwood stated “the open day was a huge success and with a 100% response rate, shows us that existing and prospective clients are as excited as we are to have an EMC chamber in NSW capable of emissions and immunity testing and is spec’d from 9KHz to 18GHz.”
“This chamber represents a significant investment in the test capabilities of our company and is a tangible sign of support for the Australian Manufacturing Industry” said Martin Garwood. “Exporters of medical devices, gaming machines and electronics will benefit from a local lab with more than 15 years experience in EMC testing and the ability to mitigate problems for emissions and immunity at one location, saving time and money.”
The semi anechoic EMC chamber is located at the main Castle Hill facility and is the only CISPR16 compliant chamber in New South Wales. Capabilities include:
• Radiated emissions (AS/NZS, EN & CISPR11 and 22 Class B)
• AS/NZS CISPR13
• AS/NZS 61000.6.3 (Generic emissions)
• AS/NZS CISPR14.1
• FCC Subpart 15B Class A and B
• Radiated emissions above 1Ghz for the above CISPR standards and
• Radiated immunity to IEC/EN 61000-4-3

“We will continue to run our fully accredited Open Area Test Site on the NSW Central Coast for radiated emissions and in particular, some Class A measurements where a 10 metre measurement distance is required. Our OATS is one of the quietest in the world with low ambient emissions, allowing easy detection of signals from a product, as opposed to stray background ambients” said Martin Garwood.
