AS/NZS 4836 Safe working on or near low-voltage electrical installations and equipment, a key standard for anyone working around electricity, has been released for public comment.

The Standard aims to define the level of PPE and risk as well as how the risk level applies to new PPE requirements to arc flash hazards.

The standard outlines principles and procedures for safe work on or near low-voltage and extra-low voltage electrical installations and equipment.

Feedback on Standards under review is important and electrical practitioners and contractors should look to understand and have their say on the proposed changes to the standard.
